Cannabinoids and psychiatric symptoms
Among the different psychiatric symptoms that one can develop, there are different causes for each one and various symptoms, including panic disorders, dementia, psychosis, aggressive behavior, anxiety, hallucinations, as well as some others. Among the causes are hereditary factors and environmental factors.
Psychiatric symptoms can change the lives of people who undergo them since they can include hallucinations, suicidal thoughts, or even death. It is very important to identify these disorders right away, especially in children who may develop diseases such as bipolar disorder. Other diseases that entail psychiatric symptoms include schizophrenia, Parkinson, Alzheimer, Depression, etc.
It is very important to evaluate the best possible option to treat these psychiatric symptoms since each case varies in extremety and some antipsychotic medications may be life threatening if not handled properly. Those who suffer from dementia should be especially careful because consumption of anti-psychotics to treat dementia may cause strokes and increase the risk of death.

Cannabidiol has an antipsychotic neuroleptic effect with no interaction, which facilitates treatment in psychiatric symptoms that are commonly treated with medication that gives a sedated state, allowing a better quality of life.
Cannabinoids to treat psychiatric symptoms
Cannabidiol (CBD) significantly reduces psychopathological disorders due to its antipsychotic effects and it has fewer adverse effects than its counterpart of traditional medication. Due to this, many patients with schizophrenia use CBD to alleviate the side effects of neuroleptics which are similar to parkinsonian symptoms.
Recent studies on therapeutic strategies for neurodegenerative diseases have focused on the neuroprotective properties (eg, slowing ongoing neurodegeneration), anti-inflammatory and antioxidant components of cannabinoids, not only for palliation of symptoms, but also as a therapeutic way of delaying symptoms such as dementia. 
Jiang W (2005) considers cannabinoids to be the only illicit drug able to promote neurogenesis in the hippocampus after chronic administration. This increase in neurogenesis seems to have an association with the anxiolytic-antidepressant effects similar to those produced by the treatment of high doses of HU210 (synthetic cannabinoid).
